dotmailer for Magento 2: Sign in once for seamless connectivity

At the end of last year, dotmailer was announced as Magento’s only Platinum Technology partner in the marketing space. This came in the wake of the long-anticipated release of Magento 2, after years of development from those building ecommerce websites on the new platform, plus those developing extensions for the platform.

As a technology partner, dotmailer falls into the latter category, with our ‘dotmailer for Magento’ connector. Our in-house dotmailer Magento developers have spent months working on rebuilding our Magento 1.x connector using the new, clean, optimized code base that Magento 2 requires – all the while being tested and audited by Magento.

What does this partnership mean for the extension?

If you are using Magento 2, you’ll now find dotmailer in your admin panel in the ‘partners and extensions’ tab.

And once you install the extension, you’ll have access to all of the dotmailer features from the Marketing tab – you don’t even need to login separately, it’s completely baked in.

And what does it mean for my customer?

Forward-thinking retailers are now taking a more holistic approach to digital and retail, with a technology stack that supports the full digital experience for customers.

The bosses at Magento recognize this and are taking the attitude that, while the ecommerce platform is central to this experience, it does not operate as a silo. They have built an extendable platform and provide a Marketplace (Magento Connect) which helps retailers choose extensions that provide a better and more personalized shopping experience for customers.

For many retailers who have been early adopters of Magento 2, either moving from Magento Community or Enterprise editions or building a new site directly on Magento 2, dotmailer has been the marketing automation extension of choice.

“Building relationships with our customers has been the cornerstone of SOL. But in order to grow we need our technology to support and enhance this same mission” said Jeanie Peterson, founder and business development manager, SOL who recently became the first North American site to migrate to Magento 2.

“dotmailer makes it simple and cost-effective to reach out to our customers in a regular, meaningful and personalized manner. We can also measure these interactions to help build retention and loyalty.”
