EasySpeedy: How editing campaigns is now quicker than ever

When we shipped the first version of EasyEditor back in 2011, our goal wasn’t to make a quick editor, but the best editor. But in order for it to be the best, it had to run efficiently. And it really did – the performance from launch was so good, no one thought to mention it (this is a case where that’s a good thing).

But three years later, with the editor doing way more than it did back then (dynamic content, external dynamic content, social sharing… the list is – almost – endless), we noticed that things were beginning to slow down a little. Load times had increased, and things didn’t seem quite as responsive as they once had.

And this wasn’t what we wanted at all. So we sat down to fix it – and boy, did we. Over the last few weeks, we’ve made all kinds of untold changes to what goes on under the bonnet.

It is, on average, now 4.5 times faster than it was before. Dragging items (which is what EasyEditor’s all about) has become a whopping 27 times faster.

EasyEditor speed increases - Google Sheets

In IE11, moving an image used to take an average of 2.1 seconds. It now takes less than 0.3 seconds. Loading EasyEditor in Chrome used to take up to 3 seconds; it now takes around 0.85 seconds.

All this really does mean that you can get your work done faster. And that EasyEditor is still, we think, the best email editing tool in the world.
