Growing an Ecosystem: dotMailer sponsoring Magento Live 2014

It might be Summer, but there’s no rest for dotMailer. As we swing into July 2014, our calendar is packed with exciting developments. Ben, our Head of eCommerce opens up about our next big engagement.

In a little under a fortnight, Central London will play host to one of the world’s biggest eCommerce communities, as Magento Live (July 14-15) swings into town.

Spread over two days, in the urban surroundings of London’s South Bank, at the Park Plaza Hotel, delegates can expect to connect with eCommerce experts and specialists from across the Magento ecosystem, and develop insight to evolve and transform their digital businesses.

As well as being a Platinum sponsor, we will also be presenting on the current theme of transforming and humanising digital interactions. Jonny Dixon (eCommerce Channel Manager) and myself will be presenting (as a double act!), ‘Transforming Retail into Me-tail Across Channels.‘ Jonny’s previous ‘stepping stone’ presentation, ‘Can I Help You?  – Humanizing the Online Customer Journey’ turned heads at this year’s Magento Imagine in Las Vegas. Check out the video below:

If Magento Imagine was anything to go by, Magento Live will be an equally impressive affair. Imagine provided eye-openers for the Community – along with the release of new Magento Enterprise and Community Editions, the much anticipated Magento 2 was teased, with an early beta to drop in December 2014. Our creative partner agency, Redbox Digital, also snatched up a gong for Best Design, for their work with British gift merchandising brand, Paperchase.

This year will see two full days of eCommerce community building and collaboration, across the regional Magento user base, looking to share knowledge across the two tracks – Technical Development and Marketing. Check out the full schedule here.

In addition, we are also sponsoring Magento Live’s opening gala, MageHack (July 12-13), a Magento hackathon which draws developers, designers and tech-heads from across the region to bash, code and build fantastic new applications and extensions utilising Magento base code – within a 48 hour time period.

Last year, Team Meanbee won 1st place, with their Meanbee_CacheViewer, an extension to allow Magento developers and designers to provide an interface to easily view the contents of a Magento site’s cache – thus allowing for better, more efficient site management.

dotMailer will be covering both Magento Live and MageHack via Twitter – follow us @dotmailer to stay up to date.
