Meet Magento New York – The low down

I was recently asked at Magento Live London what is was that I enjoyed about working with Magento and for me it was quite simple: the community.

With Meet Magento NY almost upon us the crowds will flock to hear the latest news, ideas and innovations from some of the figureheads in the eco-system.  Magento place an emphasis on their community, and the Meet Magento series is perhaps the best example of this, bringing the community together for the last 6 years with events now across a dozen different countries.

On Monday Sept 22nd and Tuesday 23rd, (or early 24th for some!) various merchants, Magento partners and enthusiasts will gather at the Broad Street Conference Center and Ballroom to hear an exceptional line-up of breakout sessions. With a focus on both business and technology, Meet Magento NY offers an unveiling of the upgrades and innovation in store for the eCommerce software. However, as with all Magento events, the networking (and socializing) opportunities are just as valuable.

Who will be there?

So with all these great opportunities I thought I would note a few of the figureheads, business side that would be well worth grabbing a coffee or a cocktail with over the two days:

  • Mike Rossi – CEO, Sweet Tooth

Mike is one of the co-founders at the loyalty rewards platform Sweet Tooth.  With a huge trend still shifting towards customer retention through loyalty, Mike will no doubt have some great insight into how it has really helped some of their clients.  At dotmailer we see the importance of building a better customer experience as critical and loyalty is an imperative piece of this puzzle. Find out more about Mike’s breakout session on September 22nd at 3pm.

  • Karen Baker – Founder, WebShopApps

Karen is a big name in the Magento space and you will find her at the majority of Magento events.  A vast experience and history with Magento, she knows the community inside out and has some of the best insight into Magento extensions. Karen is hosting a breakout session on September 22nd at 3.30pm.

  • Jary Carter – CTO, OroCRM

OroCRM are building some great momentum in the very space that has seriously lacked a good solution for so long: Commerce CRM.  We all know that these days we need to do more, we need to align our online marketing channels and make better use of the data we get back.  So make sure you attend Jary’s breakout session on the 22nd of September at 1.30pm to learn just why commerce CRM can be so powerful.

  • Fadi Shuman – CEO & Founder, Pod1

Fadi will bring his well known energy and passion to Meet Magento and your guaranteed to get some great insight into delivering a better customer experience, a topic that is right at the heart of what we are trying to achieve at dotmailer.  Fadi has some great insight and plenty of examples to share so try and grab him for a word or two or come to his breakout session at 5.00pm on the 23rd of September.

  • Ben Marks – Magento Evangelist, Magento

The Magento evangelist! Ben always arrives with a wealth of knowledge from inside the community.  Constantly travelling his insight stretches across the globe and so does his influence.  Make sure you catch Ben’s talk on 22nd September at 6.20pm.

Where does dotmailer come in?

We are very excited to not only be Gold Sponsors for such a great event but also sponsoring the cocktails on Monday evening at the Broad Street Ballroom. As the event is a small walk down from the dotmailer NY offices, you can expect to see various dotmailer peeps attending all the way from the Sunday warm up to the end of play on Tuesday evening.

Needless to say Meet Magento NY has all the ingredients needed to be a great event and something that will no doubt grow year on year. Make sure you find some time to have a chat to us to and most importantly…. ENJOY!
