Today, I am proud to share that dotMailer has been given ‘Gold Partner Status’ by the eCommerce titan, Magento. This is a great opening to a new chapter in our long and established eCommerce heritage.
We are only one of four email service providers in the world to have achieved this status, which is set to help us reach out to the growing community of Magento Enterprise users across the globe.
Why So Magento?
In 2013, eCommerce accounted for 18% of the retail market, and in the UK it is expected to grow over the next two years by 17% accounting for a total sector worth of over £17 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal. Magento, the open-source eCommerce platform purchased by eBay in 2011, powers around 26% of all eCommerce sites in the Alexa Top 1 Million. Once integrated with dotMailer email marketing automation platform, Magento-powered retailers gain invaluable insights into their customers’ purchasing behavior, enabling them to automate lost basket reactivation emails and segment customers by sales history, to name just a couple of capabilities. The dotMailer ecommerce team has been responsible for building eCommerce sites and powering retailers’ email solutions since 1999. In that time, we developed a highly successful ecommerce platform – dotCommerce – and delivered solutions for great British brands, such as Nicole Farhi, Myla and Rodial.
However, we didn’t stop there. We spoke with retailers at length to really understand what they wanted from email marketing – the response was pretty uniform: they wanted to enrich their data through segmentation, and have more sophistication in how they could personalize user experiences and automate basic marketing functions. In 2011 we became a Magento Solution implementer, and in 2013 we shifted focus towards developing the dotMailer platform integration with Magento into the global choice for Magento powered retailers.
