Five Tips For Integrating Email With Your Blog

Blogging has really taken the world by storm and with readership going up every single day it’s no surprise! Blogs are a great way for companies to stay in touch with their customers and prospects in a more informal way. Much like email actually.

This got us thinking: what are the best ways to integrate your blog with your email marketing activities? Here are our top tips:

1. Include a sign-up form on the blog

This is probably the most obvious tip. Most blogs have a column down the side where you can add additional information. Including a simple sign-up form here for your email newsletter will help attract the attention of visitors to your blog. 2. Include blog posts in your newsletters

Do you struggle to find new content for your regular newsletter? Why not include some of your latest blog posts? Not only will this provide more content for the message itself, it will also increase the awareness of your blog and grow its readership.

3. Flag up your newsletter in posts

If someone has read your blog post in its entirety, then it’s probably fair to suggest they might be interested in hearing more from you. So at the end of your blog posts, why not let them know how they can read more from you either by subscribing to your RSS feed, following you on Twitter or by signing up to your email newsletters?

4. Integrate a service like Feedburner

Feedburner is a great little service from Google. Essentially it allows anyone to subscribe to your blog’s RSS feed by email so that whenever you publish a new blog post, they get a message straight into their inbox. While this could be seen as competing with your other email marketing activities, if you take our advice from point three above, then you could increase both your email subscribers and blog readership at the same time!

5. Add a share by email link

Most blogs now include the option for readers to share your post via social networks such as Twitter or Facebook. But don’t forget email! By adding a ‘share by email’ link you give your readers the option of sharing your post with their like minded colleagues or friends quickly and easily.
