Filtering Your DotMailer Reports

There’s a little known feature that was added to dotMailer a while ago which is most definitely under-used and under-rated, so we need to make sure everyone knows about it. Firstly a few clues…

  • It’s in the reporting engine
  • It super charges any post campaign analytics
  • And it sits in the top right hand corner of your reporting screen

The answer is – The filter funnel!

filter

This little icon does so much.  Click on the funnel and you can drill down your reporting analytics per address book or any segmentation queries you can build.

In other words – want to find out how males and females responded to your campaign? Or those who have bought a particular product or have or don’t have a particular attribute that you hold in your dotMailer database and can segment by?

By filtering your statistics by address book or segmentation you get all the stats you are used to but for those people only, and everything’s still downloadable. Change your filters and you can compare statistics against each of your segments.

It’s not just address books and queries.

The filter can also report on dynamic content segments, so you know exactly how those contacts who got that exact piece of dynamic content responded to your campaign. Dynamic content has always been difficult to analyse the effectiveness and report on. Now in just a few clicks, you can select the piece of dynamic content and view all campaign statistics for that segment.

You can use dynamic content to testing different calls to actions, images or content and use the Reporting Filter to compare the results and make your email marketing much more effective.

This little filter icon allows you to delve deeper into your email marketing campaign statistics and contact clusters. Try it out on your last or next campaign. Available to all Professional and Enterprise dotMailer users.
